Holiday Club

During the main school holidays, our Holiday Club offers an exciting program of trips and activities. During the holiday club, children spend most of their day outdoors exploring the local community and further afield using the two company people carriers.

Our Holiday Club is open to all P1 to P7 children even if you don’t use the service during term time. The holiday program is generally released at least a month before the main holidays, and you can book for your child to attend from a single day to the full holiday period.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are all included in the daily cost, as well as all trips and activities.

Some of the trips the children have been on recently are:

  • Cloybank farm park to see the alpacas, sheep and pygmy goats
  • Blackness castle with lunch on the rooftop
  • Aberdour beach for sandcastle and fun in the rockpools
  • Steam railway trip with lunch at Birkhill
  • Falkirk wheel and visitor centre
  • Trips to Beecraigs, Muiravonside, Zetland Park and Jupiter Centre
  • Stirling castle and visitor centre

Opening times

The Holiday Club is open 8am – 6pm with an early opening at 7.30am for a limited number of children with a charge for the extra 30 minutes being added onto the daily rate.

The Holiday Club is available on all Falkirk school holidays and in-service dates but is open subject to demand.

ECO Activities

During the holiday club, the staff and children focus a lot on nature and caring for the environment. Below is a list of just some of the areas where the children contribute:

  • Working with RSPB, the children carry out a “swans watch” project during Easter and Summer and report back on the numbers of swans and signets and how they are generally looking
  • The children are involved in collecting used bread packets from home and school and they send them away Terracycle where they are recycled and used again. The children earn points with Terracycle and they use those points to convert into cash for certain charities.
  • Falkirk Council provide also us with littler picking equipment and the children carry out litter picking activities in the local parks. The council then arrange to uplift the rubbish we gather. This teaches the children to have respect for the environment and to use the bins.
